So, yeah, about that 'end of the world' thing...
Well, last week I made a post about the end of the world and...
...it kind of happened.
Well, not the WHOLE world, just our backyard. The CLP crew is safe and sound, but the tornadoes that hit the area on April 13th will be remembered for a long time. Just check this set of pictures out.
Weird thing is, that this sort of destruction has been the subject of many comic book stories that I wrote in the 1990s. Back in the 252 Z days, the battle of good and evil took a heavy toll on College City (which was basically Iowa City). Giant monsters, undead scientists, witches, cyborgs and mutants fought and laid waste to chunks of that fictional city. I drive around IC these last few days and I have flashes of Vance Kreteck hurling Buicks at bad guys, wrecking buildings and infrastructure. Very creepy.
Anyway, our thoughts are with those who have been affected by this disaster. IC is already starting to feel like it's old self and will be back to (somewhat) normal before you can say 'tailgate'.
